パレット久茂地 リウボウ食品館で野菜を買ってはいけない
先日、久しぶりにパレットくもじに行く用事があったので、
帰りに地下のスーパーりうぼう食品館に行ってきました。
そこで改めて沖縄の野菜が高いという現実を目の当たりにしました。
県庁前にあるパレット久茂地の地下にあるりうぼう食品館は、
地元の人であれば知っていると思いますが、とにかく野菜が高いです。
そもそも基本的に沖縄県は野菜の価格が他県に比べて高いことで有名です。
私も沖縄に移住したての頃は、その野菜の高さに驚かされました。
例えば、もやし一袋が東京では19円で売られているものが沖縄では61円と
約3倍の価格で売られているのです。
他にも
にら 238円
青ネギ 358円
大葉 128円
ほうれん草 258円
春菊 354円
大根 258円
水菜 299円
しいたけ 480円
などと、とにかく家計泣かせなのです。
基本的に沖縄の野菜価格は本土の2〜4倍の値段が付けられている印象があります。
しかも、品質は正直悪いです。
みずみずしさが無いものがほとんどです。
また、内地では商品にならないような傷んだ野菜が売られていることも少なくありません。
何故沖縄の野菜は高いのか
以前、農業を携わっていた方から聞いた話です。
- 輸送費などの物流コストが乗っているせいで高い
- 高温多湿、台風等の影響で野菜が育ちづらい
- 害虫が多く、野菜を守るために農薬を頻繁に撒く＝手がかかる
沖縄の気候的な問題もあり野菜が育ちづらいと言われています。
また、害虫が多い影響で農薬もふんだんい使われていると聞きます。
そんな質の良くない野菜が沖縄県では高額で売られているのが現実です。
台風で野菜が不作の時は、レタスが1300円に高騰するなどの
ニュースが取り上げられていたこともあります。
沖縄県の方々は本土と比べると、
驚くほど高い値段で野菜を買っている現実があります。
沖縄で生活する際には、”沖縄は野菜が高い”ということをぜひ覚えておきましょう。
