茅打ちバンタに行ってきました。
茅打ちバンタは、那覇方面から向かうと車で約二時間半、
大石林山のほぼ手前に位置します。
茅打ちバンタは、高さ80メートルもある大自然の断崖絶壁で
足がすくむ程の高さであります。
山原の風景と東シナ海を一緒に見渡せる場所は茅打ちバンタが一番かもしれません。

茅打ちバンタという名称の由来は、その昔、束ねた茅を崖から投げ込むと、
風邪に打たれてバラバラに散るということから名付けられたそうです。
ちなみにバンタは沖縄の言葉で崖という意味です。
茅打ちバンタへの行き方
茅打ちバンタに行くには58号線をずっと北上し、宜名真漁港が
見えてきた頃に看板が出ているところを右手に入ります。
本当にこの道であっているのか？
という程の細道を車で登っていきます。
険しい道程を数分登っていくと茅打ちバンタがあります。
広めの駐車場があります。
ちなみに茅打ちバンタを訪れたのは沖縄に移住してから
2回目となりますが、前回も今回も他の観光客は誰もいません。
人気の無い観光スポットなのか。。

大石林山や辺戸岬はいつも他の観光客がいますが、
たまたまなのか、今回も寂しい雰囲気です。
早速車を停め、いざ断崖雪壁を望む展望台へ！
切り立ったがけに展望台があります。
展望台から見渡す景色。
晴れている時は、下にサンゴ礁がよく見えます。
大自然の凄さを堪能できます。
宜名真漁港が下にあり、山原の山々と東シナ海を一望できます。
展望台はしっかりと整備されており、綺麗な公園といった感じです。
トイレもあります。
茅打ちバンタは観光スポットとして微妙!?
茅打ちバンタは国頭村の中のいくつかある中の観光スポットでです。
しかし、茅打ちバンタは辺戸岬や大石林山に行く時に立ち寄る程度の場所かな
というのが正直な感想です。
茅打ちバンタの景色も良いですが、辺戸岬や大石林山でみる景色の方が
個人的には好きです。
まぁ、せっかく沖縄最北端へ観光へいくなら立ち寄ってみても
いいかなというレベルの場所です。
茅打ちバンタは夕日も綺麗らしいので機会があれば
今度は夕方に行ってみたいと思います。
茅打ちバンタは心霊スポット!?
茅打ちバンタは観光スポットでありますが、
心霊スポットとしても有名です。
沖縄県内では飛び降り自殺の名所としても知られています。
付近での焼身自殺や首吊り自殺などが後を絶たないという噂があります。
星空も綺麗と言われる茅打ちバンタですが、
是非、色々な意味で気をつけて楽しみましょう。
